MARYKE DESIGNER WEDDING DRESS CERTIFICTAE OF AUTHENTICITY

As of March 2026, we provide a certificate of authenticity with each wedding dress to verify that the gown is a genuine Maryke designer item. This protects both the bride’s investment and the brand’s reputation against counterfeits.

Sadly, in an era with counterfeit production on the rise, or, as recently happened in the pre-loved market, where an un-branded wedding dress, not in line with Maryke quality standards & brand ethics, landed up in a branded Maryke garment bag.

We therefore no longer print the brand on our garment bags, but instead, when purchasing a Maryke wedding dress from an authorised stockist (or directly from the designer), the certificate of authenticity accompanies each gown.

This verifies that the dress, identified by the unique code & order number is indeed an original Maryke Wedding Dress / Garment / Product, each individually hand crafted with intention and exceptional craftsmanship, by Maryke and / her in-house team, based in South Africa.

Although the origin of the fabrics used are mostly from the East / abroad, the brand goes through great lengths to source from local suppliers where possible.

Every aspect of my business is applied with intention and often times deep meaning. Peonies are my favourite flower and symbolizes meanings such as:

Love & romance

Happiness

Honour & wealth

White Peonies specifically symbolizes purity, innocence, new beginnings, forgiveness and divine love (Christianity).

As a multi passionate artist, I digitized a sketch I made of Peonies for my cards.

PAPER

The paper used for the certificates are produced with virgin pulp from responsible sources, contains 35% cotton and 65% of ECF (Elementary Chlorine Free) wood-free primary pulp from responsible sources.
