ALL ABOUT THE SLEEVES

Creating Brittany’s beautiful custom designed wedding dress was a real defining moment for me, where for the first time in a very long time, I allowed myself to fully step into my role as a bride’s designer. In addition, I chose to be comfortable not fully knowing how we were going to get there, but certain of our starting point and the one definitive design element Britt was after: something interesting (code for different) and that it had to involve sleeves.

Our ‘not fully knowing’ wasn’t rooted in confusion or indecision, but rather a mutual recognition of ‘we haven’t gotten there yet’ and trust that ‘we most certainly will’ as we allow the design process to unfold.

Designing wedding dresses is an art, and sometimes, it just needs a little time to develop and unfold. As we played around with lace and tulle, Britt’s gorgeous dress and delicate, double layer illusion sleeves organically unfolded into the beauty that transpired.
