The gorgeous Karin got married 12 Oct 2013. It was truly special making her wedding dress, as we met 10 years ago when I first moved to KZN. I was so excited when she first contacted me & I got even more excited when she sent me the design she had in mind. Together we adapted the design to be better suited to her personality & style. The end result: a breathtakingly beautiful bride!
Even though she wasn’t looking for a traditional wedding dress, she still wanted it to be soft & feminine. There was a touch of rustic vintage running through her wedding theme & it was reflected in the lace she chose for her wedding dress.
She opted for a beautiful corded Chantilly lace, which was combined with soft French chiffon over a soft touch duchess satin. The design itself had a corseted bodice with a dropped waist, accentuated by loads of delicate ruching in all directions. The lace motifs were cut out & individually appliquéd onto the dress by hand. Through layering the different sizes of the flowers on top of each other I created a raised effect, which accentuated the beautiful lace even further. A gorgeous a-symmetrical shoulder strap completed the look.
